Comic Quick Look – Transformers: MTMTE #19, Prime Beast Hunters #3

Here’s a double-dip of Transformers comics from the past two weeks.  IDW released Transformers: More than Meets the Eye #19 and Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters #3, two distinct tales from two different universes.  And fittingly enough, I have two different opinions about them. Comic Review: Transformers: Infestation 2 #1 & #2

I loved Transformers: Hearts of Steel when it was released several years ago. The Transformers saga, set in a different time? Especially a Victorian/steampunk era? It was great! Seven years later, in preparation for this new mini-series, I tried to remember what happened in HoS, and to my surprise, I couldn’t. “I Am Optimus Prime” Comic Coming from IDW

Chris Ryall, IDW’s Editor in Chief, has updated his blog with a sneak peek at “I Am Optimus Prime”, a new Transformers comic book/picture book geared for 4-7 year olds.  The art is styled after the Robot Heroes line of mini figures, and it looks awfully cute. Of course, older jaded fans will see that title and think of that horrendous G2 Optimus Prime sound box…
