Since its creation in 2011 and its acquisition by Amazon three years later, Twitch has become the platform of choice for all video game enthusiasts. Some particularly well-followed players have gained worldwide popularity by broadcasting their games live. Today we look at some of the more famous ones.

Tfue, the sulphurous

As controversial as he is talented, this 22-year-old American has largely contributed to the popularity of Fortnite with his assertive personality and his radical, sometimes racist positions. Originally a Florida boy and now living in New Jersey, Turner Ellis Tenney has crossed the line so often that he has been let go by his partners several times. He still has 9 million followers on Twitch.

Shroud, the ghost

Like Ninja, the Canadian had been signed by Mixer with a large contract (we are talking about $ 10 million in his case) before finding himself released from his contractual obligations when the Microsoft platform closed in July. Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek then chose to make his return exclusively on Twitch, where this former pro player of CS: GO had built his notoriety. He has over 8 million followers. From hitting headshots with Kraber in Apex Legends to causing chaos with chaos orb in Path of Exile, you will find him streaming a variety of games. Read about destiny 2 beginners guide.

Myth, the architect

Now 21, Ali “Myth” Kabbani started creating content at 14, launching a Youtube channel in 2013 to display his exploits in the game Paragon, already developed by Epic Games. When the company launched Fortnite in 2017, it was natural that this American nicknamed The Architect got into Battle Royale, making the difference with his construction skills. Although in slight decline, he has 6.8 million followers on Twitch.

Bugha, the Fortnite world champion

The American Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf wrote his name in the history of gaming: he became, at the age of 16, Fortnite solo world champion during the first World Cup of phenomenon-gaming organized on the court of tennis Arthur Ashe from New York, in 2019. This slender teenager, originally from Pennsylvania, made the difference over his rivals thanks to his sense of placement, his building skills and his success in close quarters. He has 3 million followers on Twitch.

Pokimane, the feminine exception

24-year-old Imane Anys is one of the few streamers in a predominantly male environment. With 5.38 million followers on Twitch, she is the only top 10 girl. Born in Morocco, she moved to Canada at the age of 4, grew up there before living in various OfflineTV “gaming houses” in the United States. Its nickname is a contraction of Pokemon and its first name. In addition to streaming game content, Pokimane also broadcasts various moments from his private life and his travels.

Nickmercs, the record holder for paid subscribers

Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff holds an envied record: he is the one who has the most paying subscribers on Twitch (55,000 out of his more than 4 million followers), a sign that his exploits are followed by extremely motivated fans. This 29-year-old American from Detroit, who has crossed the road of Ninja for a long time (on Halo already …), is known for his very aggressive style of play.

Gotaga, the French number 1

At 26, Corentin “Gotaga” Houssein, originally from Mantes-la-Jolie, is the size of gaming in France. If he cut his teeth as a pro on the Call of Duty esports circuit, he has since become a Fortnite ace. It all began when, at the age of 8, he received an Xbox for Christmas: it was the revelation. He who “completely shut himself up in that world” made it his job. He is followed by more than 3.5 million Internet users on his YouTube channel and 2.4 million on Twitch (36th worldwide).
