Funko’s May the 4th Be With You Contest — Still Going On!

If you got caught up too much in Star Wars Day celebrations — or you hate “May the Fourth” so much you turned off your phone and computer for 24 hours — and missed Funko’s “May the 4″ Contest, don’t worry — you still have time to enter!

Funko is giving away four prototypes from their Pop!: Star Wars line.  One winner will receive prototypes of The Emperor, Biker Scout, Bossk, and Luke Skywalker Hoth.  These are the prototypes made to test out the characters and features, and are limited to five prototypes.  That’s it.  Five.  In the entire world (or galaxy).  This is some pretty limited stuff here.

So how do you enter?  Here, I’ll let Funko themselves answer this:

We want to see your Star Wars pride!

Funko Announces Hikari and Weekly Hikary Friday Contests for Exclusive Figures

What is Hikari?
Hikari, meaning ‘light’, is a highly collectible line of clear Sofubi Vinyl Figures.  These will be ultra-limited and piece runs will range from 500pcs-5000pcs depending on the treatment. Each Hikari piece will include a hand numbered card to prove authenticity and rarity.

What are Hikari Fridays?
Each Friday Funko will be announcing a new Hikari Japanese Vinyl Figure!

To start off Hikari Fridays, Funko is announcing the first Hikari figure — the Metal Mix Leonardo Hikari Vinyl Figure.

It’s limited to 500 Pieces Worldwide and will be available for purchase in June.  However, head to Funko’s Facebook page, Twitter account or Instagram channel to enter to win #1 of the series!  Good luck!

Funko Reveals Series 6 of Star Wars Pop!

WampaIn honor of “Star Wars Day”, Funko has sent over pictures of Series 6 of their “Star Wars” Pop! Line!  Featuring a huge (relatively speaking) Wampa pop vinyl figure that stands at 6″ tall , this line will also bring you bobble heads of Luke Skywalker in Hoth GearBosskEmperor Palpatine, Hammerheadand a Biker Scout.

Yes, that Wampa is as awesome as you think it is.  You have to wait until June to get these, though.

Funko Proves There’s Always a Sharknado in the Banana Stand

Funko sent over some new images of upcoming pop vinyl figures in there Pop! Television line.  First off, in honor of the upcoming soon-to-be-a-classic Sharknado 2: The Second One, Funko is giving us a Sharnkado Pop!.  The best thing?  It’s probably a better actor than Tara Reid *rimshot*.  Sharknado will be available in June.

Next, the Bluths are back as the cast of “Arrested Development” makes its way into vinyl format.  Featuring eight regular releases and a chase figure, you can recreate your favorite AD scenes and then cruelly cancel the show because you don’t promote it properly and run it up against the Olympics and then have to wait for years for Netflix to come save it and sorry I’m not bitter much.

Also available in June, these figures will feature two versions of Michael Bluth (both as the office guy and in his Bluth’s Original Frozen Banana Stand uniform), Gob Bluth in his magician’s outfit (cue “The Final Countdown”), Buster Bluth as both an Army volunteer and after he lost his hand, Tobias Funke showing off his “Never Nude” outfit, George-Michael as he works in the banana stand, and George Sr. dressed in his classic prison orange jumpsuit (“No touching!”)

The one you really want, though, is the chase Tobias Funke figure as he tries out for the Blue Man Group.  Classic.

Funko Reveals Rocketeer ReAction Figure and Maleficent and Hanna-Barbera Pop Vinyl Figures

Funko has sent over pictures from some of their upcoming product, and we’re happy to show them off.

Rocketeer-ReActionFirst, from their retro-styled ReAction line, Funko is releasing a figure based on the cult movie The Rocketeer.  Featuring a removable helmet and jetpack, this figure looks like it was made in the 70’s, which may be many years before the movie came out but fits in with the character’s comic debut in 1982.  The Rocketeer figure is available in May. Funko Goes to Bat With Pop! MLB: Major League Baseball Mascots

The Major League Baseball season is fully underway (my beloved Milwaukee Brewers are in first place as of this writing – Go Brewers!), and Funko has unveiled new Pop! Vinyl figures for the MLB fan.  Featuring seven mascots from MLB, each has the personality of beloved (or hated*, depending on who you root for) baseball figures immortalized in the cute vinyl figure form.  These will be available in May.

(* Note: We at ASM do not condone buying the figure of your rival team for use in nefarious ways.)

One request, though, Funko — we need a Bernie Brewer with Hank the Dog.  And we need it now.
