Hello, folks! In a prelude to the opening of Toy Fair 2017 tomorrow, Hasbro sent out a press release and images of the upcoming Titans Class Trypticon! This robotic dinosaur is faithful to his Generation One counterpart but has been upgraded to Titan Master technology. Full-Tilt is now a full size Deluxe figure with robot mode and Necro Titan Master head/figure. Plus, Trypticon can eat other Titan Master figures, and you can retrieve them from his stomach. Gross.
Below is the official press release as well as pictures, plus a picture released today on Hasbro’s Twitter account. We will see more tomorrow!
TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS TITANS RETURN TRYPTICON Action Figure
(Ages 8 & up/Approx. Retail Price: $149.99/Available: Fall 2017)
The TRANSFORMERS battle explodes into uncharted territory when the TITANS RETURN! To control an ancient race of giant, city-sized warriors—TITANS—the AUTOBOTS and DECEPTICONS must harness the power of TITAN MASTERS, smaller bots that give bigger bots enhanced abilities in battle. The ultimate Decepticon weapon is joining the Titans Return battle! Trypticon will destroy everything and devour everyone in his path. The Titan Class Trypticon figure is the largest figure in the 2017 Titans Return universe and is also the biggest Decepticon figure ever made. The towering T-Rex converts between 3 different modes: dino, spaceship, and city. When the figure is in city mode, it connects to Titans Return Leader Class figures (each sold separately) to form the giant Nemesis Command. When the figure is in T-Rex mode, it can “eat” Titan Master figures: Trypticon can chomp them down, then you can open his stomach to get them out. Comes with a Deluxe Class Full-Tilt figure and a Titan Master Decepticon Necro figure. Additional Titan Master figures are each sold separately, but with so many to collect, the Titans Return battlefield is a veritable all-you-can-eat bot buffet for Trypticon. Full-Tilt figure attaches to the Trypticon figure’s chest. Titan Master figure becomes the head for the Full-Tilt figure and works with all Titans Return Deluxe, Voyager, and Leader Class figures (each sold separately). Also features a storage compartment in the figure’s tail.
Toy Fair is upon us once again, and it seems more than ever, there are fewer surprises, what with official reveals promised to various media outlets and leaked images popping up everywhere. So, this post is not truly 100% prediction or speculation — this is what I hope to see this weekend.
TRANSFORMERS – We know we’re going to see Titans Return all over the place. So, I want to see Powermaster Prime and Fortress Maximus on display, as well as Victorion. And then give me Headmasters galore – I want to see the new Hardhead and Brainstorm. I hope there’s a Nightbeat shown in some form. (EDIT: And Hasbro Pulse has just showed us artwork for some Headmasters. Toys will be seen tomorrow.)
And let’s get some Beast Wars love, okay? I’d love it if Masterpiece Optimus Primal was announced. I’d be okay with some more BW Generations figures, too.
STAR WARS – Well, no Rogue One, we know that. So give me more TBS TFA characters. Give me a Rey with Speeder. Give me a 6″ Maz to complement the 3.75″ character. Give me Luke and Leia. Give me Kanji Klub. Give me a Rey/Finn pack with Roamer-6 breath masks and Falcon parts.
MARVEL – We’re getting 6″ 90’s Rogue in Marvel Legends, as well as Spider-Gwen. That’s my wish list right there.
But let’s throw in Silk, some Dr. Strange stuff, and some Netflix people like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Kilgrave.
And now that 12″ Marvel Legends have been announced, let’s hope for more than just Captain America and Iron Man.
PLAYSKOOL – For Transformers, I’d like to see some non-Rescue Bots designs. Let’s throw in RiD and G1 (and BW if we’re pipe-dreaming). For Star Wars, I’d love Kylo Ren and Shuttle, Rey and Speeder, and a troop builder pack of First Order Storm-, Flame-, Snowtroopers and TIE Pilots.
DC – How about some 3.75″ figures from the DC TV Universe, like all of ARROW and FLASH? I’d love toys of Oliver, Black Canary, Merlyn, and Nyssa with some Flash, Reverse Flash, Firestorm, Captain Cold and Heatwave.
My God, what don’t I want to see? I love everything they do. For Pop figures, I want to see more Arrow and Flash. I want to see more Star Wars (if they could tap into the Legends Expanded Universe, say, Mara Jade and Thrawn). More Transformers.
I’d love to see a Knight Rider Pop! Ride. Think about it — Michael Knight with KITT and… okay, it’s not canon, but Garth Knight with KARR. (Hey, it would be an easy mold reuse; keep those costs down!). Note: These will not happen.
Rumor is we’ll see new 3.75″ figures. Bring them on.
I always love looking at their Star Wars and Marvel figures. Let’s see some Force Awakens items.
If anyone — anyone — makes “Quantum Leap” toys? I will buy every damn QL toy they make. Note: These also will not happen. Damn it.
The show starts tomorrow! Be sure

We’re in the middle of Day 3 of Toy Fair pictures, but let’s turn the clock back a few hours and see what we unveiled during the hour of the wolf (sorry, a Song of Ice and Fire reference there….). Yesterday, our big galleries were for three of the biggest companies at the show – LEGO, Mattel, and Bandai, plus some Playmates and Diamond Select Toys thrown in.
From LEGO, we saw new Galaxy Force, new Lord of the Rings, more Star Wars, and the debut of The Lone Ranger. We also saw DUPLO, Creator, Castle, City, and lots more.
From Mattel, we saw Batman and DC (including the crazy 1960’s Adam West Batman inspired toys), WWE, Masters of the Universe with the awesome Castle Greyskull, and Disney, and on the doll side, we saw Barbie and Monster High. Throw in Watchmen and Max Steel, plus more, and you got a buffet of pictures to look at.
From Bandai, it’s Power Rangers, Ben 10, Pac-Man and more. From Playmates, we saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And from Diamond Select Toys, a whole host of Minimates and other cool stuff, including a Mr. Fusion prop from the Back to the Future movies.
