PHILADELPHIA, April 22, 2014 – David Boreanaz (“Bones,” “Angel”), Nathan Fillion (“Castle,”Serenity), Whoopi Goldberg (“The View,” Sister Act), Christopher Lloyd (“Taxi,” Back to the Future), Karen Gillan (“Doctor Who,” Guardians of the Galaxy) and Norman Reedus (“The Walking Dead,” Boondock Saints) are among the celebrities scheduled to attend Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, June 19-22 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. It is the eighth of 16 events in the 2014 series produced by Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) and will also feature a top-drawer collection of well-known comics artists and writers and a variety of activities, exhibitors and special attractions.

NEW YORK, April 16, 2014 – Wizard World today announced that two WWE Superstars, a WWE Hall of Famer and two WWE Divas will appear at Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, June 20-22 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. WWE® Divas The Bella Twins™, WWE® Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino™ WWE® Superstars John Cena and Batista™ and are scheduled to greet fans, sign autographs and pose for photo ops during one of Wizard World’s flagship events.
The Bella Twins will appear on Friday, June 20, from 4:30-7 p.m.; Bruno Sammartino is set for Saturday, June 21, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.; Batista is scheduled for Saturday from 2-6 p.m.; and John Cena is slated for 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 22. Final schedules for photo ops, autographs and panel programming (the Bella Twins and Batista will conduct Q&A sessions during their respective allotted times) will be released shortly. With dozens of television and film credits, including “The View,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” Sister Act, The Color Purple, and a wide range of talents and accomplishments, Goldberg is known to millions as an actress, comedian, host, producer, author, activist, and singer-songwriter.
Goldberg began performing at age eight in New York with the Children’s Program at the Hudson guild and the Helena Rubinstein Children’s Theatre. NEW YORK, May 17, 2013 – Argentine artist Julian Totino Tedesco will draw the third in a series of exclusive Wizard World variant covers of Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead #1 comic for Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, May 30 – June 2, it was announced today by Wizard World and Skybound, Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics. The covers proved to be extremely popular at Portland Comic Con in February and St. Louis Comic Con in March, celebrating the groundbreaking, Eisner Award-winning comic book series.
Tedesco will be on hand at the Pennsylvania Convention Center throughout the event to sign copies of the limited-edition comic, produced in extremely limited quantities and available to fans only while supplies last. The first two covers were illustrated by Michael Golden (Portland) and Arthur Suydam (St. Louis). A different superstar artist will draw the variant cover art for each of the five remaining scheduled Wizard World shows this year. Neal Adams is drawing the cover for the NYC Experience (June 28-30), and more cover artists will be announced shortly.

NEW YORK and PHILADELPHIA, May 16, 2013 – Marvel Entertainment will host two programming panels and conduct two portfolio reviews at the 2013 Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con Friday, May 31, through Sunday, June 2 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The panels are entitled “MARVEL: Breaking Into Comics the Marvel Way,” set for Friday at 5 p.m. Saturday’s panel, “MARVEL: From NOW! to Infinity,” will take place from 4-5 p.m. Additionally, Marvel will be accepting portfolios on Friday and Saturday, and talent scout C.B. Cebulski and others will conduct reviews on Saturday and Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. in Room 110.

Actress Gina Torres, who played “Zoë Washburne” in “Firefly,” and Serenity, will attend Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, joining fellow cast members Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin, and Jewel Staite at the event, set for May 30 – June 2 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Torres, a New York native, made her TV debut on “One Live to Live,” and later played “Jasmine” in the series “Angel” before landing the strong role as the First Officer “Zoë.” She also appeared in The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix: Revolutions and the 2006 political thriller Five Fingers. Torres won the 2001 ALMA Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Syndicated Drama Series for “Cleopatra 2525” and has done voice work including “Vixen” on the Cartoon Network’s “Justice League Unlimited,” “Airachnid” on “Transformers: Prime” and “Niobe” in the computer game “The Matrix Online.” Read more
